A Truly Magical Latte
I’ve recently been reading Dr. Joe Dispenza’s Becoming Supernatural and to say I’ve been inspired would be an understatement. I’m only through chapter 2 and already know this book is going to be life-changing. I already subscribe to and live by many of the principles but his tangible descriptions and possible outcomes are electric. A reminder that our life is completely up to our own powers and determined by our network of repeating thoughts is something we all could benefit from. Portions of this book inspired me to make my morning latte with more intention than I ever have before and from there I knew I needed to share it with anyone who might want to try.
Any health professional, blogger or wellness influencer will tell you not to start your day with something overly sweet and while I absolutely appreciate all the information and assistance out there, I’ve found myself so buried by information overload that it took most of the joy out of any form of eating or drinking. I have loved my morning or midday mocha latte for probably a decade now, it’s changed over the years and incorporated some additional benefits that I adore but whenever I try to remove it I find the day not as exciting.
Sometimes it’s best for us to forego what we’ve been told or studied in nutritional advice and just simply allow ourselves to enjoy the experience. Because the truth is if we’re obsessing over everything we do, eat, drink, exercise, etc. we end up in an incredibly critical thought loop that inhibits our bodies from absorbing any of the positive, healthy things we are doing. Our thoughts and intentions have more power to create our future than anything else we do.
So, as I’ve improved this delicious beverage over the years to include more antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and adaptogens without sacrificing any flavor, I decided this morning to change my intention when making it to infuse it with extra magic.
How? I literally spoke to it. With every new step of making the drink, I added what this particular item was doing or adding for me as I drank it. You can do this however it feels right to you! My spell, so to speak, is below for inspiration but I highly encourage you to make it your own so it resonates with you and helps manifest what it is you are hoping for!
This drink includes cacao which is rich in polyphenols that improve heart health and help increase the blood flow from your brain. What I love is that it is also a beautiful heart opener. As I added the cacao I noted that this would infuse my day with love and open my heart completely to all the future possibilities that it truly desires and allow me to surrender to those instead of what the world tells me I should do/love.
Maca is included as well and is said to balance hormones and improve mood and energy. I asked that the Maca offer the true joy of life and add childlike fun throughout the day.
There’s also Chaga which is full of TONS of vitamins and minerals and is said to have anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. It is very earthy and multi-functional so I asked that it open my energy centers to receive and absorb what is being offered to me. After all, you can’t see magic, or angels, or signs, if you’re blocked from them.
There is also coconut sugar and liquid monk fruit that give you the benefit of iron, zinc, and magnesium with your sweetness, of course! As I added those components I asked to fill my life with sweet pleasures and pure joy just for the enjoyment of this existence we are gifted.
It also has a date soaked in the coffee. Dates are loaded with magnesium and are essentially nature’s candy. I asked that this connect me to the grounding of the earth’s energy and fill me with health and vitality.
My favorite ingredient is powdered vanilla (which can be subbed for vanilla extract) and to me this ingredient is magical. Vanilla is sweet, smoky, and adds the strongest flavor in such the smallest amount to any recipe. Something with such power I view as sheer magic. I asked that this ingredient allow me to experience magic in every day, be open to the universe’s power and synchronicities, and fill my life with abundance.
This intention made making this drink even more enjoyable and fun. It made me take note of each flavor as I drank it and really savor the moment. If nothing else, I already appreciate what this little exercise did because it caused me to slow down and realize I can incorporate this practice into every single thing I do. Adding intention or magic makes things so much more satisfying and really grounds you in the present moment. I’d love to know what magic you create while making your recipes!
And if you do not want to pause to make some magic, the drink itself is SO good, just make it anyway :).
